  • Catherine mother Mary was sister to Queen consort Anne Boleyn, making Catherine first cousins to Queen Elizabeth 1st of England and the Duke of Norfolk. William Carey, Catherine's father, was third cousins with King Henry VIII os England.

  • Mary Boleyn Catherine's mother, had been a mistress of King Henry VIII of England, during the time of her conception and her brother Henry's. History speculates the true parentage of them, however the King never once acknowleged either of being his illegitamate children.
 
  • Catherine and her husband Francis Knolly's had fourteen children. Among them children ws Lettice Knolly's, who married Robert Dudley the Queen's known favourite.
