Thomas niece Catherine Howard Queen consort of England was executed for high treason. Lord Thomas Howard his half-brother, was another member of his family imprisoned and died in the Tower of London due to an affair with Margaret Douglas, This affair was seen as high treason due to Margaret being in the line of succession at the time for the crown.
